Well hello folks! For further notice regarding weekly shares/recipes this blog will be updated on Monday evenings.

Things are looking really good around here! Lots of things are above ground in the field, spinach, lettuce, sweet peas, radishes, carrots, onions, strawberries, swiss chard, turnips,  kohlrabi and more kale.

There was a bit of a storm here yesterday that wiped out about half of the early spinach (due to the 2nd collapse of the big hoophouse) but there is LOTS more in the field. This will not affect CSA shares, only the retail sales at the market next month. We will be building a much nicer hoophouse with a metal frame around the end of July to make sure we have greens all winter. The smaller hoophouses are doing fine, hooray!

Next week we will begin breaking ground on the middle field in anticipation of planting the various kinds of squashes. Zucchini (elite and 8 ball), yellow squash, spaghetti squash, acorn squash, hurakan squash and barq squash. Yummmyyy! I have lots of recipes for squash and will be dehydrating lots of zucchini for my own personal use in soups and casseroles next winter.

In two weeks I could REALLY REALLY use some help transplanting peppers and tomatoes. It's a bit overwhelming to do that many plants by myself, as this year there will be somewhere in the ranch of 400 tomato plants and 550 pepper plants...yep just a few hahaha! Please let me know if you can spare and hour or two every bit helps I promise!
