Good evening! I am excited to announce we will be at Springville Auction tomorrow, a month earlier than expected. Hoophouses really are a great thing. We will have fresh cage free eggs, baby bok choi, organic leaf lettuce, red giant mustard leaves and radishes. (red satin and cherry).

We were able to get the rest of the field all ready for planting today, I came in for lunch and promptly fell asleep on the couch. Only to awake and find it raining...grrrrr. It's been very busy around here, everything is "waking up". The dandelions (have been making jelly for two weeks now), wild violets, (yes jelly out of that too), the lilacs smell GREAT! I even mowed the lawn yesterday for the first time this year.

The animals are so happy to be back outside, only to promptly have chickens and ducks sitting on eggs patiently waiting for babies to hatch. (theres almost 40 eggs in the incubator inside the house). Baby bunnies are excited to go outside and eat fresh grass, they are so comical to watch. Lots of new calves, too. I must say, spring is my favorite season by far!

As far as the fields, lots of mulching the last few days. Wet straw is kind of heavy and I'm going to have some pretty manly arms soon lol! I see there are green beans up now and lots and lots of greens. The kohlrabi is coming along, as are the turnips, radishes, onions, asparagus, strawberries( seeing a few blooms out there hooray!), more mustard, lettuce, beets, spinach, kale, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, swiss chard. It all is coming up nicely!

Weather prevailing (as long as its only raining and not lightning), I will begin planting squash, cantaloupe, cucumbers tomorrow, it's going to take me a few days as I have to make the plastic mulching beds and chop up a bunch of straw too. Come say hi in Springville tomorrow!
