That time of the year is finally here thankfully! Most of the seedlings for early planting have been started over the last couple of days, with some early germination that would impress anyone! Very excited! We start plowing the field under with cow manure in two short weeks, I'm sure the neighbors will not be impressed, lol. Just a couple more weeks and the new hoop house will be up and I will begin planting spinach, tatsoi, mustard, radishes (watermelon and red satin varieties), kale, bok choi, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, manny cucumbers, kohlrabi and 8 Ball Zucchini in there. Pictures will be posted as soon as they are all in.
The girls (chickens) have decided to end their winter break/hiatus and have begun laying eggs again, boy did I miss having fresh eggs, just couldn't bring myself to purchase any from the regular grocery stores. There will only be 20 egg shares available this year, please sign up by April 15th if you are interested in receiving one dozen eggs with your summer share, otherwise the eggs are first come/first served at the roadside stand or farmer's markets.
Still have a few more workshares available for the summer 2014 season, please call me if you have any questions at all. Otherwise, Happy Spring!
